Pope Leo XIV has left no doubt.
After initial doubts as to whether the Chicago native was a Cubs or White Sox fan, his brother debunked the false rumors and confirmed the new pope roots for the ChiSox.
And on Wednesday, Pope Leo XIV showed off his fandom with a hat.

That's awesome.
It's good to know that the pope isn't a front-runner. The White Sox have almost never been good, and they were a historically bad team in 2024.
This season, as of Wednesday night, they're 23-44 and well in the cellar of the AL Central.

The choice of the former Robert Prevost as the first pope from the United States has not all of a sudden turned the fortunes around for the White Sox.
But he's likely boosted the morale of the White Sox faithful.
Even if they don't have wins, they'll have this awesome photo of Pope Leo XIV in their hat.
