Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong is a top-3 outfielder in MLB by this strong case image

Pete Crow-Armstrong has bridged the 2024 and 2025 seasons in a mightily impressive way.

So impressive, in fact, that one strong metric says Crow-Armstrong is a top-three outfielder in all of baseball.

If we go back to Aug. 1 of last year, Crow-Armstrong has a 3.4 fWAR (Fangraphs Wins Above Replacement).

Only two outfielders have outdone him in that span, and their names are Aaron Judge and Corbin Carroll.

Crow-Armstrong closed last season in a great way. In the 52 games from Aug. 1 on, he hit .284 with seven doubles, two triples, seven homers, 27 RBI and seven steals.

So far this season, PCA is hitting .276 with four homers, nine doubles and eight steals.

Crow-Armstrong also gets much of his value from the tougher to quantify defensive side of the ball. He's a superstar defensive centerfielder.

Put it all together and you've got an impressive package from the 23-year old.

It's fair to not quite elevate PCA to superstar status yet, but he's warned us that it's on its way. If he can maintain this consistency, the sky appears to be the limit.

The Cubs have tried to extend Crow-Armstrong already, according to reports, but had no success. And these days, the cost on Crow-Armstrong seems to keep going up.
