Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong breaks insane Sammy Sosa franchise record for homers, steals image

Pete Crow-Armstrong stands alone.

On Thursday, he went yard to give himself a 20 homer, 20 steal season already. It's just June 19.

And in two ways, PCA is unmatched in Cubs history.

The first is simple: He's the youngest Chicago hitter to ever go 20-20.

And the fact that he did it now is even wilder. It took Crow-Armstrong 73 games to get to 20-20.

That breaks the fastest mark in Cubs history by Sammy Sosa, who reached the 20-20 barrier in the Cubs' 96th game in 1994.

“It’s an honor,” Crow-Armstrong told MLB.com. “It’s just an honor to be able to do that.”

The 23-year old Crow-Armstrong was the leading vote-getter among NL outfielders in the initial release of All-Star voting.

PCA is batting .270 after Thursday's game, with a .558 slugging percentage. He has drive in 60 runs and scored 54.

He might also be the best defensive centerfielder in baseball, and his 4.1 fWAR ranks third in the majors.

Crow-Armstrong took a short while into his MLB career to start swinging his bat in earnest.

But now that he's going, he certainly doesn't seem like stopping.
