The Chicago Cubs made it to the NLDS after beating the San Diego Padres in the NL Wild Card round. They faced their division rivals, the Milwaukee Brewers. After quickly falling behind 0-2, Chicago rallied to win two straight games, sending the series back to Milwaukee. However, their comeback fell just short, as they lost Game 5.

The Brewers advance after a hard-fought series where the home team in each game held serve,” ESPN’s Jesse Rogers wrote.

With the Cubs’ season over, that means Tucker is about to hit free agency. Tucker was acquired by Chicago via a trade during the offseason.

“We're excited that we were able to get it across the finish line,” Cubs general manager Carter Hawkins said. “We're thrilled. He's been an offensive machine over the last several years, and we're excited to be able to insert that into our lineup. That's a bat that fits into any lineup in the league.”

Tucker certainly earned himself a payday this offseason. With only the offseason left before free agency, his potential contract has been revealed.

“It starts with Kyle Tucker, who is headed to free agency and will likely get a monster deal (some speculate a lot more, but I think it's reasonable to expect in the $300 million area),” CBS Sports’ Matt Snyder wrote.

Tucker was great for the Cubs except for a summer slump. Still, he showed up for his team and was a major reason they advanced as far as they did.

The Cubs have a lot to be proud of this season. Now, if Chicago wants to keep Tucker, they must be willing to offer a $300 million contract. Only time will tell if the Cubs are all in.
