Red Sox superstar Alex Bregman's agent gives interesting analogy hinting at third baseman's potential return to Boston image

One of the Boston Red Sox’ main goals this offseason is to re-sign Alex Bregman. Luckily for them, it may seem his camp is more open to staying than people thought.

Alex Boras, Bregman’s agent, was very willing to speak in interviews about a potential reunion. He even used an interesting coffee analogy to explain how much Bregman does for Boston.

“In Boston, prior to ‘25, they had a lot of lineup do-not holes. And certainly prior to ‘25, Boston has been a club that’s been Dunkin’ well below the playoff line,” Boras said. “I think it was a bad roast in Beantown. And certainly give the owners credit. In ‘25, they went out and spent some star bucks to bring in a Bregman blend that led them to the playoffs,” Boras said (via Tim Healey).

Boras concluded with his analogy, revealing that no one wants Bregman to leave Boston.

“I’m sure the Boston fans don’t want this to be just a cup of coffee. And no one wants a Breg-xit.”

This past season, Bregman finished slashing.273/.360/.462/.821 with 28 doubles, 18 home runs, and 62 RBI over 114 games played. He became the leader of the team, and Boston really can’t afford to let that leadership go.

Hopefully, the Red Sox are just as serious about retaining Bregman as Bregman is about wanting to stay. It’s a perfect match, and they need to get down to negotiating a new deal ASAP.
