The Boston Red Sox will need to go out and make a few more moves on both sides of the baseball, with the bullpen being an important area to do so.
With multiple relievers still available on the market, the Red Sox should walk out with at least one more.
Chris Cotillo of MassLive linked Boston to former Chicago Cubs reliever Taylor Rogers. Rogers was traded to the Cubs by the Cincinnati Reds last year.
“Andrew Chafin, Joey Lucchesi, Brent Suter and Taylor Rogers are still available, along with former Red Sox Jalen Beeks, Cam Booser and Zach Penrod,” he wrote.
Rogers stands out among that group for obvious reasons. Andrew Chafin is an interesting name, and they’re similar in age, but I’d like Rogers a bit more at this stage due to his funkiness from the left side.
More importantly, the Red Sox clearly aren’t done. They’ve been tied to veteran left-handers all winter, showing that they’re prioritizing guys who have been in this situation before and can come in and get outs.
It also wouldn’t be surprising if Boston goes after one of Jalen Beeks, Cam Booser, or Zach Penrod, as all have ties to the team, as Cotillo mentioned.
