Proposed Orioles trade sees Baltimore send package led by Dylan Beavers for $152 million two-time All-Star ace to finish offseason with a bang image

The Baltimore Orioles have had an explosive offseason, but almost their entire division has also had good offseasons as well. Most recently, the Boston Red Sox signed LHP Ranger Suarez to a five-year, $130 million deal.

With that in mind, the O’s need to make one last splash to make sure they have the best offseason in the AL East. Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter believes they can do that by trading for Milwaukee Brewers two-time All-Star ace Freddy Peralta.

The trade would look like this:

Orioles get: SP Freddy Peralta

Brewers get: OF Dylan Beavers, LHP Cade Povich, LHP Joseph Dzierwa

“Despite trading for Shane Baz and re-signing Zach Eflin, the Orioles remain linked to the market's top arms as they seek a proven frontline starter to join Trevor Rogers and Kyle Bradish who will both be searching for fully healthy seasons in 2026. If they're not in love with Framber Valdez or Ranger Suarez as a potential fit, they have the farm system firepower for a "Corbin Burnes 2.0" trade with Milwaukee,” Reuter wrote.

With Suarez off the market and Valdez seemingly a clubhouse issue, getting Peralta would be the right move. In 2025, he posted a 17-6 record, a 2.70 ERA, 204 Ks, and a WHIP of 1.075 over 176 innings pitched.

This trade is also dependent on the O’s re-signing him, though. He’s got one year left on his current deal and is projected to receive a five-year, $152 million deal in 2027.

However, the O’s shelled out for Pete Alonso, so doing the same for Peralta is definitely doable. Hopefully, they do and get negotiations started with Milwaukee while they still can.
