The Baltimore Orioles just had a dumpster fire of a season, right after making it to the playoffs the year before. A main reason for that is they lost their ace, Corbin Burnes, in free agency.
While they have young arms in Trevor Rogers and Kyle Bradish, they still need a proven ace to lead the rotation. Bleacher Report’s Tim Kelly believes the O’s can find that ace in Detroit Tigers Cy Young winner, Tarik Skubal.

“For a team that seemed destined to run the sport this decade just a couple years ago, though, what would be a bigger statement of trying to get back on track than acquiring Skubal to pair with Trevor Rogers at the top of its rotation?” Kelly wrote.
Kelly continued, revealing what they would need to give up to land such a deal.
“To complete a trade, Detroit would have to be really high on some combination of the other prospects in Baltimore's system—such as outfielders Ike Irish and Enrique Bradfield Jr.—and a piece or two on their MLB roster, like Colton Cowser or Coby Mayo,” Kelly stated.
This would definitely gut some core players from the O’s roster, but they have position player depth, and no pitching depth. Plus, getting Skubal is worth almost anything.
Hopefully, the O’s figure out a trade for him, and a possible extension ASAP. Otherwise, they’ll be competing with half the league, who all want to bring Skubal to their franchise.
