The Baltimore Orioles have had a busy offseason so far, signing Ryan Helsley to a $28 million deal and trading Grayson Rodriguez to the Los Angeles Angels for Taylor Ward.

With interest in adding a frontline starter and involvement of the markets for Kyle Tucker and other top free agent sluggers, the Orioles still have some big offseason moves coming this winter.

But, before any of those additions are made, the Orioles announced a string of roster moves Saturday morning, which involved the team cutting ties with a former Athletics and Chicago White Sox slugger after just seven games with the Orioles.

The Orioles announced that they made a few roster moves, which included claiming Will Robertson from the Pittsburgh Pirates and Drew Romo from the Colorado Rockies. But, to make room on the 40-man roster, the Orioles also released Ryan Noda.

Baltimore only had Noda for seven games after an early-August waiver claim by the Orioles after a brief stint with the Boston Red Sox. Though he never appeared in an MLB game for Boston, he did make seven appearances for the Orioles.

In those seven games, across 14 plate appearances, Noda had two hits, one RBI, one stolen base, one walk, and six strikeouts for a.154 batting average with a.368 OPS.

He didn't make a large impact on the Orioles, but he was once an intriguing player for the Athletics. In 2023, he had a.229 batting average with a solid.770 OPS thanks to a decent power-hitting season with 16 home runs and 22 doubles in 128 games.

But the outfielder/first baseman didn't last long with the Athletics, eventually getting released and claimed by the Angels, before later being released again, claimed by the White Sox, and released one last time to join the Orioles.

It was a very brief stint with the Orioles, but the intriguing 29-year-old didn't stick, and he's now a free agent once again. His power potential is enough that he could land on a new team, but for now, he remains a free agent after a seven-game stint with the Orioles.
