Baltimore radio host makes strong plea for Orioles GM to be fired image

The Baltimore Orioles are not having a good season.

The Orioles fired manager Brandon Hyde early in the year, and the free agent signings this past offseason look worse with each passing day.

On top of that, GM Mike Elias has a hot seat, and if things don't change, there could be an overhaul in Baltimore at the end of the 2025 season.

On Wednesday night, things got really bad. The Orioles jumped out to an 8-0 lead after an outburst in the second inning. But, somehow, someway, the Tampa Bay Rays scored 12 unanswered runs and held Baltimore without a hit the rest of the game to get the 12-8 win.

As such, it prompted Baltimore radio host Jason La Canfora to make a call for Elias to be fired.

"Fire Mike Elias. He's shown you for over 2 years he ain't cut out for this. Cut your losses. You will never win anything with him managing your baseball operations. #FireEliasNow," La Canfora wrote on X

Sure, the Orioles' free agent signings have not panned out yet. Charlie Morton was one signing that flopped so far.

Still, there was more hope than this as the halfway mark of the season is right around the corner.

On Thursday, the Orioles did manage to get the 4-1 victory as they now go on to face the New York Yankees in a tough three-game series in the Bronx.
