The Athletics come into the offseason with some newfound hope. They are coming off one of their best seasons in recent years and are starting to build their foundation.

They have also gotten some things done this offseason. While they have not made many moves, the club did acquire Jeff McNeil in a trade with the New York Mets. His versatility and veteran leadership are expected to be a huge boost for the club this upcoming season.

Now, they have a few more holes to fill. They could use another frontline starter to pair with Luis Severino, and that could be the front office's focus.

The A's need more help in their starting rotation. Luis Severino held things down as best he could, but he needs some help.

Luckily for the club, there are tons of frontline starters looking for a new opportunity. This is where Zach Eflin comes in.

Bleacher Report's Zachary Rymer believes he would be an excellent fit for the A's.

"Teams should see Eflin as a candidate to bounce back and be more like his usual self in 2026. As in, the guy who made 59 starts and put up a 3.4 rWAR across 2023 and 2024."

Eflin is coming off a bit of a lost season. He ended his season in August with the Baltimore Orioles after undergoing a lumbar microdiscectomy.

But he will come into the new season healthy, and Rymer believes he can return as a frontline starter and make up for missed time.

However, the A's are not the only team that is listed as a potential suitor. Rymer also mentions that a deal with the San Francisco Giants or the San Diego Padres could make sense as well.
