The Athletics are coming off one of their best seasons since 2021. The reason for this? The performance of their younger players.

Tyler Soderstrom became a difference-maker, leading the team with 93 runs batted in and appearing in a team-high 158 games. But he was not the only one.

Nick Kurtz did not make the Opening Day roster, but was called up in late April and did not look back. He went on to showcase his power and won the AL Rookie of the Year Award and a Silver Slugger Award.

Athletics fans should be excited about this Nick Kurtz prediction

Despite the season Kurtz had in 2025, he was not selected as an All-Star. However, that could all change in 2026, according to Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter

"Kurtz made his MLB debut on April 23 and did not hit his first home run until May 13, yet he still managed to crush 36 long balls while posting one of the best all-offensive stat lines of any player in baseball. He will face competition from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. And Pete Alonso, among others, but if he can come close to matching last year's production he should pile up All-Star selections in the coming years."

It will not be easy, as Kurtz will face competition from guys like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. And Pete Alonso, but he could overtake those two if he puts up similar numbers in 2026.

However, there is no telling how he could look this upcoming season. Most rookies tend to slow down a bit during their sophomore year, and with the numbers that Kurtz put up, it will be tough for him to replicate that.

A's fans are hoping that is not the case and he comes out in a few months and picks up right where he left off.
