The Arizona Diamondbacks have had another middling season after being in the World Series just two years ago. With the big bat of Eugenio Suarez now being on the Seattle Mariners, they need to go into the offseason looking to replace it.
Fansided’s Christopher Kline believes the DBacks can do it by signing Boston Red Sox superstar Alex Bregman, who is predicted to opt out of the remaining two-year, $80 million on his contract.

“The Arizona Diamondbacks don't have a clear-cut option at third base right now after trading Eugenio Suárez. Both Blaze Alexander and Jordan Lawlar are due for more regular at-bats next season, but Arizona can move them around the infield creatively. Bregman, too, is flexible between third or second base if needed, giving the D-backs options to mix and match to maximize Bregman's involvement over the duration of his contract,” Kline wrote.
This season, Bregman slashed .273/.360/.462/.821 with 18 home runs and 62 RBI over 114 games. His bat could be great for the DBacks lineup, and more importantly, his leadership.

The only problem with this is even if he opts out, Bregman is most likely going to try and find a long-term way to stay in Boston. He loves it there, and Fenway Park is perfectly built for his swing.
The DBacks will need to offer the world to Bregman to even be on his radar, but for what he brings, it might just be worth it.
