The final leg of the Triple Crown is set to deliver high drama as the best horses in the country compete at the historic Saratoga Race Course.
The 157th running of the Belmont Stakes features a much-anticipated rematch between Sovereignty, the Kentucky Derby winner, and Journalism, who captured the Preakness Stakes. The purse for this year's race stands at a record $2 million.
Other contenders include Rodriguez, who missed the Kentucky Derby and Preakness with a foot injury, but is trained by the legendary Bob Baffert, and Baeza, whose mother produced other recent winners like Mage (who won the Kentucky Derby in 2023) and Dornoch (who won the Belmont in 2024).
