The Philadelphia Catholic League dual championships will get the wrestling postseason started this week in Pennsylvania with a quarterfinal matchup between Cardinal O'Hara and Father Judge.
The two schools will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday on neutral ground at St. Joseph's Prep High School, followed by another quarterfinal matchup at the same time on Thursday between Archbishop Ryan and La Salle College at Conwell-Egan High School.
The winners of those two dual meets will then advance to face the two host schools in the semifinals over the weekend with the event wrapping up on Monday, January 26.
Conwell-Egan enters the championship week undefeated in duals during the 2025-26 season with a record of 13-0-0 (3-0-0 in the Philly Catholic League's Red Division). Four Eagle wrestlers won in their respective divisions a year ago in this event, including sophomore Hunter Webster (20-2 in 2025-26) at 107 pounds, junior Thomas Boyce (3-0) at 114 pounds, sophomore Michael Gorrell (23-6) at 133 pounds, and Colin Walther (22-1) at 145 pounds.
La Salle College junior Cole Trzeciak (27-5) is the only other defending champion at 152 pounds. His win helped propel La Salle to the 2025 team championship at the event in a 30-27 win over Conwell-Egan in the finale.
This time around, however, it's the Conwell-Egan grapplers that enter as the favorites.
