MIAMI, Florida, Dec. 12 — The West Boca Raton [Boca Raton, FL] Bulls will take on the West Broward [Pembroke Pines, FL] Bobcats Friday afternoon at Florida International University's Pitbull Stadium for Florida's FHSAA Class 6A state championship.
Both teams enter the game with 12-2 records, and the Bulls will be defending their 2024 Class 6A title that came via a 26-7 win over the Osceola [Kissimmee, FL] Kowboys a year ago. The two appearances in the title game are the only times that West Boca Raton has advanced to the final in school history.
But West Broward's appearance will mark its debut in Florida's championship finals history. The Bobcats were 9-4 a year ago, losing in the regional finals in a 51-21 rout at the hands of the Southridge [Miami, FL] Spartans. They avenged that loss two weeks ago in a 30-27 win over the Spartans, and then cleared the final hurdle last week in a 24-17 win over the Buchholz [Gainesville, FL] Bobcats.
