Vote: Who should be the top individual Louisiana high school football performer from the LHSAA state championship games (December 2025)? image

Earlier this month, eight Louisiana high school football state champions were crowned inside the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Here’s a look at those top performers from the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s championship games. Also, readers can now vote on who they think should be the Louisiana Player of the Week. Vote as many times as you like until 11:59 p.m. CT on Sunday, Jan. 4, and the winner will be announced next week.

Top performances from the Louisiana high school football state championship games

(This list is in alphabetical order)

J’Vien Adams, Iowa

A senior tailback, Adams carried the ball 24 times and produced 158 yards with a TD as the Yellowjackets’ claimed their first-ever state title in football after a 50-43 win against North DeSoto for the Division II Non-Select championship.

Ethan Bourgeois, Riverside Academy

A senior linebacker, Bourgeois recorded 10 total tackles - 7 of those solo - in the Rebels’ 31-21 win against Ascension Catholic in the Division IV Select title game. He also had two tackles for loss and a sack.

TJ Burch, Sterlington

A junior tailback, Burch rushed for 105 yards on 17 carries and had two TDs as the Panthers repeated as Division III Non-Select champions with a 34-20 win against Jena.

Tomarion “Tre” Burch, Sterlington

Burch, a senior linebacker, recorded 11 total tackles, including 8 solo stops. He also returned an interception 34 yards to the house to seal the Panthers’ repeat state title bid.

Jeremiah Bushnell, Iowa

Bushnell, a senior receiver who has signed with Houston, caught four passes for 112 yards and scored three TDs as the Yellowjackets won their first-ever state football title after outlasting North DeSoto, 50-43, in the Division II Non-Select championship game. He also had 44 yards rushing with another score.

Wydell Clark Jr., Ouachita Parish

Clark caught four passes for 108 yards, including a 30-yard TD catch with less than seven minutes left, as the Lions rallied to defeat district rival Ruston, 21-20, for the Division I Non-Select title. He also had seven total tackles, including five solo stops, along with a forced fumble.

Macario Dade, Ouachita Parish

Dade was the Lions’ top rusher, picking up 147 yards on 21 carries along with scoring a pair of TDs.

Tre Garrison, Edna Karr

A senior tailback, Garrison rushed for 183 yards on 41 carries with a TD as the Cougars repeated as Division I Select champions after a 49-14 win against St. Augustine.

Elijah Haven, Dunham

The Tigers’ junior quarterback was stellar in their 34-17 win against Calvary Baptist in the Division III Select title game. Haven completed 21-of-29 passes for 271 yards and three TDs and was also the team’s top rusher, gaining 136 yards on 27 carries with two scores.

Ethan Henderson, Haynesville

Henderson was the Golden Tornado’s top rusher in their 39-37 win against Mangham in the Division IV Non-Select title game. He rushed for 96 yards on six carries and had two TDs, while recording Haynesville’s first score by returning a fumble 25 yards to the house. Henderson registered six total tackles as well.

John Johnson, Edna Karr

Johnson completed 15-of-18 passes for 169 yards and a TD while adding four rushing TDs as the Cougars repeated as Division I Select state champions with a 49-14 win against St. Augustine.

Landree LeBlanc, St. Charles Catholic

The Comets’ junior quarterback was 18-of-24 passing for 174 yards and a TD in his team’s 23-21 win against Archbishop Shaw in the Division II Select championship game.

Kaston Lewis, Iowa

A junior two-way standout, Lewis was the Yellowjackets’ top rusher as he gained 172 yards on 15 carries and found the end zone two times. On defense, he had five total tackles and a pass breakup.

Tyler Milioto, St. Charles Catholic

Milioto, who earlier missed a potential game-tying PAT, redeemed himself in the best possible way by drilling a 44-yard field goal with five seconds left to lift the Comets to an improbable 23-21 comeback win against Archbishop Shaw in the Division II Select title game.

Jayden Obiewke, Riverside Academy

Obiewke rushed for 69 yards on 16 carries with a TD, caught two passes for 48 yards with another score and also completed a 35-yard pass in the Rebels’ 31-21 win against Ascension Catholic in the Division IV Select title game.

Isaiah Washington, Haynesville

Washington, a senior who has signed with LSU, had a huge day in his finale with the Golden Tornado in their 39-37 win against Mangham in the Division IV Non-Select title game. He rushed for 87 yards on seven carries with two TDs, including the eventual game-winning score with less than 10 minutes remaining. On defense, Washington was the team’s top tackler with 14 - 12 of those solo - while he also had a 77-yard pick-six.

Jarvis Washington Jr., Dunham

Washington, a senior receiver, caught 10 passes for 168 yards and two TDs in the Tigers’ Division III Select title-game win against Calvary Baptist. He also completed a 9-yard pass, his lone attempt.
