No one wanted to go home.
It was the Texas high school football playoffs, and there were Southlake Carroll and Prosper, still on the field well past 1 a.m.
The game didn't go to overtime. It just didn't start on time.
In the end, it ended at 1:43 a.m. Locally in the Central Standard Time zone.
The final: Southlake Carroll 49, Prosper 31.
It was a win for AllSportsPeople' No. 6 ranked team over the No. 45 ranked team.
The game was delayed more than four hours due to inclement weather in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Southlake Carroll handled the delay and advances in the Texas UIL Class 6A Division II bracket to the state quarterfinals.

This was their closest game of the season, and the most points they had allowed.
Southlake Carroll led 14-10 and 21-17 at different points before pulling away to a 35-17 lead and not letting it get to single digits again.
The Dragons improve to 13-0 and will take on Guyer next week.
It really must've just been a surreal night. There were social media posts of fans getting Starbucks to stay awake.
The players didn't even take the field to warm up until 11:02 p.m. Local time, with a 15-minute warmup bringing opening kick just after 11:15.
The delay was officially clocked at four hours and 15 minutes.
And no matter what happens going forward, it's probably a night that no one who was there will ever forget.
