National Week 20 high school football composite rankings: Buford extends its lead in the final edition of 2025 image

Buford dominates final Composite Rankings of the 2025 season.

The No. 1/SN No. 1 Buford [GA] Wolves were crowned the 2025 AllSportsPeople High School Football National Champions last Friday, one of six No. 1 votes the Peach State powerhouse received in the final edition of AllSportsPeople Composite Rankings.

Joining AllSportsPeople in its decision to anoint Buford as the nation's most-deserving team for the title of national champion were the selectors from the Blue Star Media Elite 25, ESPN, MaxPreps, SI Power 25, and USA Today Super 25.

The only holdouts keeping Buford from attaining unanimous status as the national champion were the High School Football America Top 300, which crowned the St. Thomas Aquinas [Fort Lauderdale, FL] Raiders as the national champions, and the Massey Ratings which gave its title to the Bixby [OK] Spartans.

St. Thomas Aquinas' highest ranking outside of High School Football America was a No. 4 listing in the final edition of The SN Top 25 while the Raiders weren't even ranked in the final edition of the Top 25 by Massey.

Bixby, meanwhile, was ranked as high as No. 8 by Blue Star Media but wasn't listed in the final Top 25 by ESPN or High School Football America.

Finally, the St. Frances Academy [Baltimore, MD] Panthers also claimed a sliver of the national title with their dominant 37-20 win over Utah's UHSAA Class 6A state champion Corner Canyon [Draper, UT] Chargers in the Overtime Nationals high school football championship on December 10.

AllSportsPeople acknowledges all of these national champions while also remaining firm in its belief that, in a banner year for Georgia high school football, the Buford Wolves assembled the nation's best resume. Their status as the consensus national champions here in the final edition of our composite ratings only serves to underscore that the Wolves are deserving of that honor.

National Week 20 high school football composite rankings

Every week, we compile the rankings from eight different national selectors to create an all-in-one composite list of the teams in the order of most points accumulated.

In the final edition of 2025, there are three teams (Bixby, Buford, and St. Thomas Aquinas) holding down the No. 1 position in at least one of the various rankings that make up AllSportsPeople Composite Rankings.

Teams ranked in our composite index include the Top 25 from each of the following rankings:

A first place vote is worth 25 points, second place worth 24 points, third place worth 23 points... And so forth through 25th place which nets one point. With eight polls in use, a consensus top-ranked team receives up to 200 points. When possible, ties are resolved in order of the team ranked by the most selectors followed by the team receiving the highest ranking from any one or more selectors; if they are still tied, then we will try to resolve the tie by the team receiving the lowest ranking from any one or more selectors. If it is still tied, we will note it as a (tie) in parentheses.

Here are this week's top 25 teams in our composite rankings:
