ARLINGTON, Texas, Dec. 18 — The Muenster [TX] Hornets and the Shiner [TX] Comanches will battle Thursday morning for the Texas UIL Class 2A Division II state championship.
Muenster is the defending state champions, but they enter the game with a 13-2 record while their foes from Shiner are undefeated at 15-0. The Comanches displayed a stout defense last week while containing the nation's No. 2 rusher in Mt. Enterprise [TX] Wildcats' star Kaegan Ash, and they feel like the favorites headed into this game.
But Muenster also lost two games in 2024 in a 14-2 run to the title so record alone doesn't tell the whole story of this Muenster squad.
Game time is set for an 11 a.m. CST local (12 p.m. EST) kick.
