Duncanville and Waxahachie will meet Saturday afternoon in a rematch of their regular-season meeting.

MIDLOTHIAN, Texas, Dec. 6 — So, it's come down to this.

The No. 18/SN No. 12 Duncanville [TX] Panthers will meet the No. 35 Waxahachie [TX] Indians Saturday afternoon a rematch of their regular-season game won by Waxahachie, 28-27, on September 19.

The loss knocked Duncanville from their perch in the preseason Top 10 of AllSportsPeople High School Football Top 25. But while it knocked them down the rankings, it didn't knock them out.

The Panthers have collected nine straight wins to work their way back to the fringe of the Top 10 – and they'll get there if they can handle the Indians and then pull an upset against the No. 10/SN No. 6 Allen [TX] Eagles next week. Allen knocked the defending Class 6A Division I state champion North Crowley [Fort Worth, TX] Panthers out of the playoffs Friday night in a 33-21 decision.

Waxahachie, on the other hand, is looking to secure its own spot in the Top 25. They are currently ranked No. 16 in the Massey Ratings, the only list that is part of AllSportsPeople Composite Rankings to feature the Indians just one week out from the state semifinals. A win here could be the statement the Indians need to crack some of those other lists.
