The Midwest Athletic Conference produces some of the best small-school athletes at the high school level anywhere in Ohio.

As far as boys basketball goes, Cameron Elwer of Delphos St. John's now stands alone.

On Friday night, Elwer became the MAC's all-time leading scorer.

Here's a look at the shot that did it:

Elwer broke the record previously held by Versailles' Justin Ahrens, which had stood at 2,046 points.

He needed 30 on the night to break the mark. Elwer dropped 45.

The Blue Jays' senior star drilled 11 3-pointers in the process, a special night all around, as St. John's beat MAC rival Minster, 64-44.

Elwer entered this season with major expectations, playing on a roster filled with his brothers and cousins, a whole host of Elwers.

The leading Elwer is bound for Division I Furman after this season. First, he'll put together one final magical season showing the entire MAC what he can do, and hopefully, make a run that shows the rest of the state, too.

Elwer will have plenty of time to expand on his record, and he surely will along a path that includes a lot of winning, too.
