"It was no different from what I've practiced before," Steyert told Newsday. “I just went out there and did exactly what I do for a PAT.”
Scott Coppo of West Islip set the benchmark for the longest field goal in a Long Island championship contest back in 1993, successfully kicking a 43-yard attempt.
The Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms secured their third Long Island championship over the past four seasons.
Without their kicker, the Phantoms wouldn't have gotten it done.
But with Steyert, they had a record and another celebration.
