Jordan Smith and his Paul VI Panthers, pictured here against the Garfield Heights Bulldogs back on December 18, 2025, were upset by Calvary Christian Academy on Saturday at the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions.

If there were any questions whether or not the No. 11 Calvary Christian Academy [Fort Lauderdale, FL] Eagles were for real, they were answered on Saturday evening in the championship game of the 41st Annual Bass Pro Tournament of Champions in Springfield, Missouri.

The Eagles headed back to the Sunshine State with the tournament hardware after taking down the nation's No. 5 Paul VI [Chantilly, VA] Panthers, 78-64, in the finale, leaving no doubt that they were the best team over the three-day event that featured five teams ranked in the AllSportsPeople High School Boys Basketball Top 25.

Calvary Christian was one of those five teams, of course, and prior to taking down the Panthers, they also defeated the No. 9 Principia [St. Louis, MO] Panthers, 62-56, on Friday.

Principia recovered to win the third-place game, 64-57, over the No. 17 Bartlett [TN] Panthers who had lost to Paul VI, 74-51, on Friday.

On the consolation side of the bracket, the St. John Bosco [Bellflower, CA] Braves held off the locals from Logan-Rogersville, defeating the Wildcats, 58-53. Prior to that, the only other ranked team in the event – the No. 18 Wheeler [Marietta, GA] Wildcats – rebounded from losses on Thursday and Friday to defeat the other local team from Kickapoo, handing the Chiefs a 71-55 loss in the seventh-place game.

Complete results for all three days of the Bass Pro Tournament are listed below.
