NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - Two New Orleans-area schools didn’t have far to travel to play for a state title in Division II Select.

It will also be a rematch of a regular season game played on Week 10, with St. Charles claiming a 24-0 win.
Shaw (9-4) is the defending state champion, but had to replace nine starters on offense. But the Eagles are back in familiar territory, and are going through a strong postseason run in which they’ve outscored their foes 114-13, including a 27-0 win against Vandebilt Catholic in last week’s semifinal round.
St. Charles, the top seed in the bracket, comes in at 12-1 after finishing 4-7 the season before. Prior to that, the Comets had been in the state title game for five straight years.
The Comets survived an overtime thriller against University Lab in last week’s semifinal to make it back to the Dome.
