PGA Championship purse for 2019: List of payouts, prize money, how much the winner makes image

Championships and gamesmanship is all fine and good, but here's no doubt one of the best perks of playing well in a major tournament is the big payout it produces. Even more so for major tournaments, including this weekend's 2019 PGA Championship.

Last year, Brooks Koepka, Tiger Woods and Adam Scott (who finished first through third in the 2018 PGA Championship, respectively) finished with a combined $3.134 million. Koepka took home more than half of that, at $1.98 million.

If you want to see exactly what's at stake in these tournaments in terms of money paid, Sporting News has you covered below with an updated purse and payouts for the 2019 field.

LIVE: Full PGA Championship leaderboard

What is the PGA Championship purse for 2019?

The purse for the 2019 PGA Championship is set at $11 million, the same total as it was in 2018 (but $500,000 more than in 2017 and $1 million more than the 2016 purse).

How much prize money does the winner get?

The winner of the 2019 PGA Championship will make a cool $1.98 million, the same amount defending champion Brooks Koepka won in 2018.
