Should I start Jacory Croskey-Merritt in fantasy? How to replace Commanders' RB Chris Rodriguez after injury image

The Washington Commanders will have to figure out something new at running back in Week 15 against the New York Giants.

When the inactive report came out Sunday morning, Chris Rodriguez Jr. Was officially listed as OUT.

Rodriguez was questionable, and his odds of playing seemed to drop off as the week went along.

Without Rodriguez, the expectation would be for seventh-round rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt to get most of the early-down work.

In a huge week for fantasy football, this could have wide-reaching consequences.

Should I start Jacory Croskey-Merritt in fantasy?

First thing's first: JCM is a solid enough replacement for Rodriguez if he's on the waiver wire.

Even last week, the seventh-round rookie got seven carries, and that was with Rodriguez healthy.

With no Rodriguez, it's safe to expect between 12 and 15 carries, and that's against a defense that isn't very good.

JCM, affectionately known as Bill, isn't a must-start. He hasn't yet lived up to his preseason hype.

He also isn't thrown to a whole lot, so in PPR formats, there could be a better option.

But if you're looking for a last minute plug-and-play for Rodriguez, there's nothing wrong with counting on Bill.
