Should I drop these fantasy busts? Outlooks for Travis Hunter, Rhamondre Stevenson and Brock Purdy image

The decisions never cease in fantasy football.

As Week 4 approaches, managers are wondering what to do with some of their more disappointing players. Is it too soon to drop guys who were supposed to be dependable? Players like Travis Hunter, Rhamondre Stevenson and Brock Purdy have made it a question worth asking.

This trio is very different from one another, so they're each worth an individual breakdown.

Should I drop Travis Hunter in fantasy?

No, don't drop Travis Hunter in fantasy football before Week 4.

At the same time, don't plan on starting him this week, either.

The Jaguars are still navigating the best way to manage Hunter's wide receiver and cornerback snaps. But the reality is that he's too explosive and talented to give up on after three NFL games.

Continue to monitor his snaps on each side of the ball, but as long as Hunter is getting two-thirds or more of the offensive snaps, he's still special enough to make a difference.

Should I drop Rhamondre Stevenson in fantasy?

This is the make-it-or-break-it week for Stevenson as far as dropping him in fantasy football.

The likelihood is that you could drop him now and not regret it.

He had a costly fumble in Week 3 and only ran four times for 18 yards, although he did get three catches for 38 yards, as well.

The week before, he had 11 carries for 54 yards and five catches for 88 yards.

TreVeyon Henderson is expected to take over for Stevenson little by little, but it hasn't fully happened yet.

This week will be telling as to how the Pats feel about last week's Stevenson fumble. If his workload declines and he's more or less in the doghouse, he's probably a drop. But if he gets 12-15 touches, he probably has to be held onto going forward.

Should I drop Brock Purdy in fantasy?

No, don't drop Brock Purdy in your fantasy football league.

He was drafted to either be a starter or a top-quality backup QB.

Yeah, it stinks that he's been hurt, but he'll start as soon as he returns for the 49ers, and nothing has changed to lower his status from where he was on draft day.

The one scenario where dropping Purdy is fine is if your QB1 is a guy like Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson. If you've got a clear, every-week starter at quarterback, there's no reason to use a bench spot on a second one.
