ESPN's Todd Archer reports that running back Jaydon Blue will make his season and professional debut for the Dallas Cowboys.

The rookie was a surprise healthy scratch before the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, and has not played a snap yet.

Coming into this season, Blue generated hype around a possibly big role in this offense, but Javonte Williams has seized this backfield for his own. \

Does Blue still offer than same upside now that he gets to go in Week 5?

Should I add Jaydon Blue in fantasy leagues?

In deeper leagues, sure, why not add the Texas alum from the Week 5 waiver wire?

In the offseason, head coach Brian Schottenheimer raved about Blue. The talent was never the issue, but the rookie showed some consistency issues.

Blue would have a way to go before he would be able to be a starter on your fantasy team, but there is no harm in stashing him.

How much work would Blue see behind Javonte Williams, Miles Sanders?

To be completely honest, there is not a ton of fantasy value at the moment for Blue.

With Williams being surprisingly excellent in this offense, there is no chance of Blue simply winning the job. Williams would have to go down with an injury to allow for anything like that to happen.

As far as RB2, Miles Sanders has been by no means untouchable. On top of his below-average play, Sanders is nursing an ankle injury he sustained in Week 4.

If Sanders were unable to go for any reason, Blue would become a shot-in-the-dark type of play if you were desperate. There is always a chance he'd get a lucky break and get a red-zone snap or two.

If Blue shows progress in pass protection and receiving, he could overtake Sanders later this season as a complement to Williams, at minimum, which could prove useful as a bye-week replacement, given Dallas' penchant for passing.
