It's "last-chance week" for more than a few kickers out there, and our Week 4 fantasy kicker rankings are here to help you decide who to start if you've been having trouble with this notoriously annoying position.
Heading into Week 3, Matt Prater (@ Panthers in Week 4) and Joey Slye (@ Cowboys) were yet to attempt a field goal, and other preseason favorites, including Nick Folk (@ Packers) and Matt Gay (@ 49ers), were among the bottom-10 kickers. Prater wound up hitting four field goals, while Slye remained without an attempt. Gay and Folk both hit a pair of field goals and a pair of PATs.
Things can clearly change in a hurry at kicker, but we're at the point where we can really start to observe trends, both in terms of offenses and defenses. Every year, we see at least a couple surprises at this position, and so far this year, Cade York (@ Falcons), Ka'imi Fairbairn (vs. Chargers), Riley Patterson (@ Eagles), and Brett Maher (vs. Commanders) look like they could all finish in the top 12. This week, York, Fairbairn, and Maher all kick in stadiums with roofs, and York and Maher play soft defenses, which does wonders for both of their values.

Younghoe Koo (vs. Browns) has also been solid this year and gets to kick indoors, while Dustin Hopkins (@ Texans) is also in a favorable indoor situation. Brandon McManus (@ Vegas), despite last week's dud, and Daniel Carlson (vs. Denver) are the best overall indoor options this week. And even though Greg Joseph (vs. Saints) and Wil Lutz (vs. Vikings) aren't kicking indoors, don't be scared of them just because they're playing in the UK. The field conditions for those games have steadily improved over the years.
WEEK 4 PPR RANKINGS:

For the most part, a lot of the top drafted guys still have the most upside. We already mentioned how good McManus and Carlson look this week, and you can never go wrong with Justin Tucker (@ Bills), Tyler Bass (vs. Ravens), or Ryan Succop (vs. Chiefs). If Harrison Butker (@ Buccaneers) can get over his ankle injury and get back on the field, he's worth starting, too. There are certainly a few "new guys" worth watching, and if they can get through close to a quarter of the season and still rank in the top 12, then we have to start taking them seriously.

Likewise, we'll start paying closer attention to matchup stats, too. Matchups mean less at kicker than any other position, but trends are trends, so they're at least worth considering when making your lineup decisions.
