Starting a fantasy football bust early in the season doesn't necessarily ruin your chances at the playoffs. However, The Sporting News' experts are spotting patterns in predicting the performance of the names on our Week 6 list.
Many Week 5 stars appear on this list, which should warn fantasy players not to lean too much into hype. Look at each individual week, and assess your options on hand who could be better than these headliners.

QB fantasy bust picks this week
Kyler Murray, Cardinals at Colts
Kyler keeps blaming others for the Cardinals' offensive inconsistecies but had they finished strong with him taking over against the Titans, they would not have lost. The Colts' defense is feeling it with Lou Anarumo and will have a tough game plan ready to contain him overall at home. - Vinnie Iyer
Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars vs. Seahawks
Lawrence might be the worst of the QBs who have started 4-1, and I don't hold out too much hope for him against a vaunted Seattle secondary. This could get ugly, as he already has five interceptions and three games under 13.7 fantasy points on the season. - Sloan Piva
Justin Fields, Jets vs. Broncos
Fields had a great matchup against the Cowboys and looked awful for most of the game. A couple of garbage-time scores helped him finish. However, in Week 6, he'll travel to London and face a tough Broncos defense that allows just 13 fantasy points per game. - Griffin Missant

Derrick Henry, Ravens vs Rams
Ever since his fantastic Week 1 fantasy performance, Henry has been terrible. Henry has not scored more than 10 points in each of the last 2 weeks. In Week 6, the Ravens face the Rams, who are third-best at containing fantasy RBs. - Griffin Missant
Alvin Kamara, Saints at Texans
Kamara has been not involved the way he was expected to be as a busy checkdown for Spencer Rattler and his rushing has been ineffective with some line issues. The Patriots just contained James Cook so you can't feel good about playing him. - Vinnie Iyer
Chase Brown, Bengals at Packers
Brown continues to struggle due to Cincinnati's awful offensive line and Jake Browning's inability to establish any kind of rhythm. The Packers defense will be all over him this weekend. - Sloan Piva
WR fantasy bust picks this week
Brian Thomas Jr., Jaguars vs. Seahawks
Just like I hate T-Law against Seattle, I also hate BTJ. He's enduring one of the worst sophomore slumps we have ever witnessed, and it won't get much better against the Seahawks' stud cornerbacks. - Sloan Piva
Jameson Williams, Lions vs Chiefs
The Lions are winning games and doing so without Williams being involved much. The Chiefs are a decent team against opposing fantasy WRs, and I'm not sure Williams gets back on track this week. - Griffin Missant
Jakobi Meyers, Raiders vs. Titans
The Raiders should be throwing to him more in theory with Brock Bowers hurting but Geno Smith has stunk passing all-around of late so the Raiders should want to go conversative and run heavy with Ashton Jeanty to stop skidding like the Titans. - Vinnie Iyer

Mark Andrews, Ravens vs. Rams
Andrews wasn't used well with Cooper Rush, losing the love he used to have with Lamar Jackson or even Tyler Huntley. The Rams can handle him rather well in a tough defensive matchup all-around. - Vinnie Iyer
Mason Taylor, Jets vs. Broncos (London)
Taylor has been feasting on targets over the past few weeks, but he might come to a screeching halt against Denver on a neutral field. The Broncos have largely kept tight ends in check, surrendering the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position. - Sloan Piva
Darren Waller, Dolphins vs Chargers
Everyone is on the Waller train for a good reason. After all, he was my TE sleeper for Week 5, and it worked out. However, after a great first half, he was not even targeted in the second half. In Week 6, Waller faces a Chargers defense that allows just 8.5 fantasy points per game to the position. - Griffin Missant

D/ST fantasy bust picks this week
Washington Commanders vs. Bears
The Commanders' defense has been solid for fantasy purposes. However, in Week 6, they'll play a fresh Bears offense off the bye week, which has been starting to gel. This should be a fairly high-scoring game, and there are better matchups to exploit. - Griffin Missant
Seattle Seahawks at Jaguars
For some reason in some places they are ranked high this week despite the fact the Jaguars are dominating in the turnover battle and the home team in Jacksonville is the much better play vs. a team that just got ripped by the Buccaneers last week. - Vinnie Iyer
San Francisco 49ers at Buccaneeers
The 49ers have been beat up all season, so holding onto the ball in a matchup against Baker Mayfield could prove difficult. Tampa Bay has been firing on all cylinders, and if Bucky Irving returns to the lineup San Francisco might be a hurting unit. - Sloan Piva
