Midway through the season, Rico Dowdle was shaping up as one of the top waiver wire pickups in fantasy football.
In recent weeks, things have gotten just a bit more confusing as the Carolina Panthers utilize both halves of their RB tandem that also includes Chuba Hubbard.
In Week 15, the Panthers take on the New Orleans Saints in what's a solid matchup for Carolina, which is favored and can take sole possession of the NFC North lead with a victory.
Fantasy football managers who have relied on Dowdle are now faced with a bit more of a decision. For a while, he was an auto-start, but that's not necessarily the case now. And given the high-stakes matchups happening in fantasy at this point in the calendar, you can't afford to get this one wrong.

Should I start Rico Dowdle in fantasy?
Yes, it's safe to start Dowdle in fantasy football in Week 15.
His upside may not quite be what it was before Hubbard pushed his way back into the picture.
But it was still 18 carries a week ago for Dowdle, and aside from one quiet week, Dowdle has gone for at least 18 runs in four of the last five games.

AllSportsPeople ranks him its No. 26 RB in PPR formats for this week.
Some rosters may have a better option. But there's nothing wrong with relying on Dowdle as your FLEX play in Week 15.
