Nathan Aspinall competed in this weekend's European Darts Open, right after being eliminated in Thursday night's Premier League of Darts play-off semifinal.

Aspinall put up a tough fight against Luke Humphries, but ultimately it wasn't enough to advance to the final Thursday.

Luckily for Aspinall, he had a fantastic past three days at the 2025 European Darts Open.

Aspinall wins 2nd Euro Tour title of 2025

Nathan Aspinall has been public with his struggles over the last year.

He has suffered from dartitis and was struggling to find the form he's used to having.

Aspinall was chosen to be in this year's Premier League, which led to many doubters questioning if he was capable of being competitive with some of the best players in the world.

Aspinall silenced those doubters, playing some fantastic darts in the final few nights of the Premier League season, and finished third overall.

Although he didn't advance past the semifinal, it was evident his form was getting closer to where he's peaked in the past.

This weekend was a great example of that, as Aspinall went on an emotional run to win his second European Tour title in the last few months.

The Asp won a lot of gritty games, with his averages progressing throughout the weekend.

He started with a 92.42 and 94.36 in the second and third rounds respectively.

In the semifinal, he had an impressive 103.10 in a 7-6 victory over a red-hot Wessel Nijman.

In the final against Damon Heta, who had a bounce-back weekend, he averaged 100.43 in an 8-6 victory to take home the trophy.

This is huge for Aspinall who is looking to be in good form for the World Matchplay next month.

Damon Heta and Wessel Nijman deserve a lot of credit for their weekends as well.

Heta reached his first final since Euro Tour event #12 in 2022.

Nijman continues to show why he can be one of the faces of the PDC in the next couple of years, after back-to-back weekends on the Euro Tour, making a semifinal appearance on very respectable averages.

En route to this weekend's semifinal appearance, Nijman beat some PDC stars including Brendan Dolan, Gary Anderson, Peter Wright and Stephen Bunting, before losing a close game to Nathan Aspinall.

The next Euro Tour event is not until 11 July - 13 July for the Baltic Sea Darts Open, but later this week from 6 June - 7 June, there will be the Nordic Masters for the World Series of Darts division.
