Taylor Swift has had a successful 2025 with getting engaged to Travis Kelce and releasing her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
With those high moments defining her 2025, there was a rumored rift in her relationship with one of her best friends, Blake Lively. While Lively is going through a legal battle with It Ends With Us director and actor, Justin Baldoni -- Swift's name got dragged into it, and the two have been allegedly not as close since. A source told PEOPLE in August that "Taylor and Blake aren't speaking."
In April, a source told the outlet that Swift "was really hurt" after she was implicated in Lively and Baldoni's legal case.
Now, it's possible that there has been a shift in the friendship, given that Swift's fiancé and his brother Jason Kelce recently mentioned the actress.
Are Blake Lively and Taylor Swift mending their friendship?
During the Monday episode (Oct. 6) of the Kelce brothers' New Heights podcast, they introduced their New Heights Film Club, where Travis and Jason discuss films that their fans suggest to them to watch. In the inaugural episode of the New Heights Film Club, they watched The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which stars Lively.
“It is also the film debut of our friend Blake Lively. She killed it. Absolutely wonderful as Bridget,” Jason began the discussion of Lively's character in the film, Bridget Vreeland.
The brothers went on to discuss a scene in the film where Lively is running and reciting her lines, which Travis thought was impressive.
"She has good endurance, though, because to be running like that and to be talking,” Travis said. “I would be f—ing gassed and be way worse at trying to spit my lines if I was running and talking.”
While it was a friendly conversation between the brothers as they shared their love for film, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the episode was originally made in October 2024, according to a post on X.

This follows Lively showing some love on social media by putting a "like" on a recent post of Swift's on Instagram per TMZ, as well as fans continue to speculate that "Cancelled!" is about the singer supporting Lively and "Ruin the Friendship"off of her new album is about their falling out.
This update gives hope that Swift and Lively could be making moves to get their friendship back on track.
