Travis Hunter has reunited with a woman he met in a viral moment on an airplane several days after he was selected as the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
The Jacksonville Jaguars rookie met Sandy Hawkins Combs in May when he was seated next to her on a flight.
The moment came full circle on Monday night, when Hunter reunited with Combs on the sidelines, sharing a hug and taking a selfie, before the Jaguars kicked off against the Chiefs.
During their chance meeting back in May, Combs had no idea who Hunter was when he sat down next to her. She quickly realized that she was sitting next to someone special, after noticing several fans approaching him and asking for photos.
She shared a recap of the meet-and-greet with the NFL rookie on Facebook on May 10, and the post has since gone viral on social media.
"I had the most wonderful flight home from Denver. I met the nicest young man who sat next to me. He offered to put my bag in the overhead compartment and helped me with my tray," Combs posted, adding that he was extremely polite with lots of "yes ma'am" and "no ma'am's."
"Anyone would be proud to have him as a son or grandson—so polite," she wrote. "People walking by were saying congratulations, great job, or even taking pictures. I turned and asked him, 'Who am I sitting next to?' I looked at his Jaguar pants, smiled, and asked, 'Are you an athlete?' He smiled and said, 'I’m Travis. Yes, I was drafted by the Jags.' I already told my sons I want his jersey," she continued.
"He’s so humble and down-to-earth—I would have never guessed he was a professional athlete. JACKSONVILLE JAGS, you did good! I will be buying tickets," Combs concluded.
