Is Sydney Sweeney ready to trade a film set for a boxing ring?

The "Euphoria" actress is making headlines after she revealed that she is willing to step into the ring after training for her upcoming "Christy" film.

"I’d totally do a charity bout, that’d be so sick,” Sweeney told Sportscasting.com during a recent interview when asked if she would accept a fight.

The actress will be portraying iconic former female professional boxer Christy Martin, who overcame a lot of adversity as she climbed her way into fame and success in the 90s.

Sweeney told PEOPLE what she's taken from her role as Martin.

"I feel like I've taken a little bit of Christy's strength," the actress says. "I feel like I got her fire inside me and some fight inside me."

"I got a mean left hook," she adds."I'm ready to pounce whenever."

Sydney Sweeney's intense training for Christy

Sweeney had to undergo a physical transformation to portray Martin. She previously shared that she had gained 30 pounds and worked with physicians and trainers to be at the peak level of performance for the role.

“I had a nutritionist work with me as well as a weight trainer and a boxing trainer,” Sweeney explained during an interview at the Variety Toronto Film Festival Studio. “We upped my calorie intake, and I started taking a lot of protein shakes and supplements and eating everything. I ate a lot of Smuckers, a lot of PB and J sandwiches, milkshakes, kind of just constantly always eating because we were so active.

"I was constantly burning it all off at the same time. So keeping it all up was quite a challenge.”

To supplement her nutrition, she also worked out intensely in the ring, which came with some pain.

"I was getting pummeled,” Sweeney said. “They were holding ice packs to my face in between takes. I was getting knocked up. I had some gnarly bruises after that.”

Christy hits theaters on Nov. 7. Take a look at the trailer below:
