In case you haven't heard, there is a new Allen Iverson documentary that every sports fan should definitely have on their list to watch.

Available exclusively on Prime Video, "Allen Iv3rson" offers an intimate and timely look at the cultural impact of Allen Iverson both on and off the court, going beyond the highlights to explore AI’s influence on sports, style, identity and authenticity in the public eye. Steph Curry's Unanimous Media is a producer on the project, and we got the opportunity to discuss the project with CEO Erick Peyton, Curry's longtime creative partner and a driving force behind Unanimous Media’s mission.

Peyton brings a unique perspective to the storytelling process and spoke about how this film honors Iverson’s legacy through a fresh, modern lens. Additionally, Peyton also spoke a bit about why Unanimous Media is becoming the go-to destination for athlete documentaries, following the success of "Stephen Curry: Underrated on Apple TV," and gave a glimpse of the exciting upcoming projects on the slate as well, including the animated feature with Sony Pictures, "GOAT," which hits theaters on February 13, 2026.

SN: What was it like working with Allen Iverson and bringing the project to life?

Peyton:  Because I'm an Allen Iverson fan, obviously, it was a dream come true being able to work with him and help bring his story to life. The one thing that we realized when we started this documentary was how many voices wanted to participate, but once we spoke with his mom, Anne, we realized that that was the journey we wanted to dive into: his family. His family is a big part of this series and they've never spoken about his journey before.

So, although we had a long list of major influences that wanted to be a part of telling the story, we felt like the most authentic thing would be to tell it through his family’s lens. That’s what Unanimous is all about, telling these family stories, and I think this documentary is a great example of that.

SN: Talk about the influence Allen Iverson continues to have over sports and entertainment, especially when it comes to his style.

Peyton:  I mean, he was the first of his kind, right? Everybody knows that the NBA had a dress code, and AI sort of separated himself from that dress code and really created his own lane, representing the culture in his own way. To this day, this is why the tunnel walks are really a fashion show, it all started with Allen Iverson. He’s an icon, a fashion icon for sure.

SN: Why did Unanimous Media want to work on this project?

Peyton:  Our mission is to always inspire. We want to tell family stories, and this is very much a story about family. We also want to tell human stories that everyone can relate to. So, when we think about Allen Iverson, it's easy enough to say “hell yes” to him, but he also represented so many things that Stephen and I want to do in the media space, and so that's why we wanted to join the team.

SN: Following the success of  " Stephen Curry: Underrated,"why has Unanimous Media become the go-to destination for sports docs?

Peyton:  I think that a lot of that has to do with trust. Stephen trusted us with his story, Allen trusted us with his story, and there's other athletes, too. We’re a company that’s honored to be telling these stories, and we want to make sure that any athlete who brings us their journey will trust that we’ll tell it with honor and respect. So, I think the reason that we’ve had so much success in telling these icons’ stories is because we’ve built that trust within the community. And also, we can't leave Stephen out. He’s producing it, picking up the phone, making calls and giving feedback on the cuts. That helps when you're telling a story that very much relates to him.

SN: Talk to us about "GOAT" and the early 2026 premiere.

Peyton: " GOAT" is the biggest project that Unanimous has produced to date. It’s a SONY animated film that we’ve been in development on for the past six years. It represents everything that we wanted to do in the industry. The creative is completely original, the partners are the best in the industry, the story is built around inspiring and there are surprises throughout. So, when you ask me what it’s like to be doing it, it’s fulfilling. It’s fulfilling our mission to execute on our ultimate objective here at Unanimous, which is inspiring through media and telling stories that are completely creative.

SN: What do you hope viewers take away from watching both "Iv3rson" and "GOAT"?

Peyton:  The idea is that both stories are built to inspire, so obviously we hope that viewers are inspired by Iverson’s journey and Will, the main character of "GOAT’s" journey. Hopefully, these stories will inspire them and let them know that they can overcome adversity. I think that’s always the goal; to tell a human story, not necessarily a sports story. We look at both of these stories as projects that you could sit down with your family and watch. There’s something in both of them for everybody, the dad, the mom, the son, the daughter, everyone in the family.

SN: Beyond these projects, what’s next in the pipeline for Unanimous?

Peyton:  We have a pretty exciting book slate. We’re always working on more books as they are very important to Stephen. He’s inspiring the next generation of readers not only through his literary mission and his and Ayesha’s foundation, Eat. Learn. Play., but also through developing original IP that relates to children today. We’re also doing more documentaries, we have one in production with Canelo Álvarez, which we’re just turning the first cut on with Netflix, as well as podcasting.

We have about eight podcasts in development right now, and we just released "Fudd Around And Find Out" with UConn star Azzi Fudd that is super exciting and doing great. But, all that to say that the great news is that Unanimous is no longer in its first few years, so there’s not a singular project that I can point to and say what’s next. What’s next is that we will just continue to do the thing that we're doing, which is create content, launch amazing podcasts, develop inspiring books, and continue to grow the company.
