Shaquille O'Neal is sharing the truth about the nature of his relationship with Sophie Rain.
After Shaq was seen at the OnlyFans model's 21st birthday party, rumors began to swirl that the two were an item. The NBA legend, however, is shutting that rumor mill down with his latest comments on the situation.
The four-time NBA champion responded to content creator Noah Glenn Carter, who wrote online per TMZ, "People are not happy that Shaq attended Sophie Rain's birthday party."
“I don’t [date] that young but I will date your mom and give u a brother,” Shaq commented back.
"Stop tryna create rumors don't make me slap you dude," he added. “Your mom is hot tell her to hit me on my sky tell pager."
Shaq opens up on getting married again
Now that Shaq has denied those dating allegations, the Hall of Famer seems to be single. However, he has been married in the past. The retired Los Angeles Lakers star was married to Shaunie Henderson, but they got divorced in 2011. She has since remarried Keion Henderson in 2022.
Last year, he spoke to Chicago Sky star Angel Reese about whether he was open to getting married again.
"Probably not [on getting married]. I’m going to end up alone, I already know,” he said.
His comments on relationships regarding infidelity -- which he admitted to in his former relationship with Henderson -- went viral when he spoke about the lack of privacy in relationships.
“Y’all be making rules up as you go on," he continued. "There is no handbook on how to be a perfect man or a perfect husband…If I’m not physically seeing somebody and I’m with you every day and you know my schedule, shouldn’t matter what I’m doing with my phone, it’s not cheating.”
In a conversation with R&B singer Monica in 2023, he admitted that he messed up his previous relationships. In addition to Shaunie, with whom he shares Shareef, Shaqir, Amirah, and Me’arah, he was in a relationship with Arnetta Yardbourgh, with whom they shares their daughter, Taahirah.
"I had two perfect women and I messed it up. My first one was my baby mother, Arnetta [Yardbourgh], and then I met Shaunie [Nelson]. Shaunie was also a perfect woman and I messed it up," he told Mo Talk Radio. "Yeah, you know, we were young and always just doing dumb stuff. But the good thing about our relationship is that they forgave me and we have a good relationship now.”
