If losing to the Dallas Cowboys wasn't enough, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes went viral for his interesting Thanksgiving Day meal.

Hours after the Chiefs lost to the Cowboys, Mahomes took to social media to share the latter half of his holiday celebration -- a family meal at home. Like most people across social media platforms on Thanksgiving, users were sharing their plates filled with turkey, macaroni and cheese, string beans, and more. The three-time Super Bowl champion starred in an ad for Adidas, and in the spot he shared his plate, which featured a turkey leg and mashed potatoes.

"Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks, return home, see family and meet new friends," he says as he begins to eat his plate.

Mahomes adds, "Thanksgiving....is a time to eat," as a view of his plate takes full frame which has his turkey leg drizzled with ketchup.

The plate went viral as fans were curious as to why the turkey leg had ketchup on it, as gravy is the usual condiment associated with it.

The video concludes with text that reads, "From Patrick Mahomes, Happy Thanksgiving."

Fans immediately flocked to the comments to give their opinions on Mahomes' Thanksgiving Day meal.

"Bro ketchup on the turkey? Come on man," one fan commented.

"Aye, he gotta chill on the ketchup," another fan reacted.

"Just a man and his ketchup," a fan wrote.

While Mahomes enjoyed his Thanksgiving meal courtesy of Adidas, the game didn't go as planned for the Chiefs. The Cowboys won the Thanksgiving game against the Chiefs 28-31. Following the game, Mahomes spoke to reporters, sharing what went wrong for the Chiefs.

"Just missed opportunities," Mahomes said. "Just like all the losses we've had this year. Getting the ball twice at midfield at the start of the second half, and not coming through and getting points at all. That stuff you can't do against good football teams, and we did that today."

The Chiefs are now at a 6-6 record for the season, and while the loss hurt their playoff odds, there is still a chance for them to make it to the AFC Championships.

The Chiefs' next game will be at home against the Houston Texans on Nov. 7 at 8:20 pm EST.
