The "NBA on NBC" is back, baby!
To celebrate the league's return to the network and its debut on Peacock, NBC Sports is leaning into nostalgia and bringing a one-day-only vintage merch pop-up to Los Angeles on Thursday, October 16. Here's the deal: For one day only, NBC Sports will take over the Complex LA store in the Fairfax district with a vintage merch pop-up. The experience will feature limited edition "NBA on NBC" New Era gear, sold at throwback prices ($7 to $23), continuing the tradition of giving fans more ways to watch the game they love.
From 1990 through 2002, NBC Sports’ critically acclaimed coverage of the NBA was home to some of the league’s most iconic moments, players, and teams. Just ahead of NBA Tip-Off on October 21, the iconic "NBA on NBC" logo returns, channeling a golden age of basketball, while signaling a new era of storytelling on NBC and Peacock.

We briefly checked in with Jodi Arden, SVP of Events and Activations at NBCUniversal Entertainment, to learn more about the pop-up.
SN: What makes this pop-up special? Especially with the return of the "NBA on NBC"?
Arden: The NBA is a part of NBC’s legacy, and this pop-up pays homage to the Roundball Rock era of basketball while getting fans excited for when the NBA returns to NBC and streams on Peacock starting next week. By partnering with New Era on vintage merch at retro prices ($7-23) and recreating a '90s-inspired bedroom, we’re transporting fans back to when they had NBA posters all over their bedroom walls and couldn’t wait to watch the "NBA on NBC," just in time for them to tune in to a whole new era.
SN: Why did you decide to partner with Complex?
Arden: Complex pop-ups bring fans face-to-face with the biggest moments in culture, making them the ideal partner to bring to life a celebration of the "NBA on NBC" and Peacock. We are thrilled to partner with them to celebrate the last time NBC Sports was home to game-changing NBA moments and look ahead to the new era that begins October 21, with "NBA Tip-Off on NBC" and Peacock.
A new era begins.
