LeBron James is sharing aspects of his personal life involving his relationship with Savannah James and their three children.
On an episode of Dear Media’s Everybody’s Crazy podcast, which is co-hosted by Savannah and April McDaniel, the four-time NBA champion shared what it was like to be a young parent and to give their children a life he hadn't experienced.
“My wife comes from a two-parent household and siblings in the house,” LeBron told Savannah and McDaniel during the podcast. “I don't come from that."
The Lakers star added that his home life did not have his father present, which contributed to their complicated relationship to the present day.
He continued, "It was my mom and my uncles, and then just friends and girls and guys just coming in, you know? S—, that's what I grew up on. So, me settling down and deciding that she’s going to be the one that's in the house, giving her the key or the garage door code, that s— was different, bro.”
Savannah and LeBron met in Akron, Ohio, and are high school sweethearts and welcomed their first child, Bronny, when he was 19 and she was 18. The couple got married in 2013.

What has LeBron said about his relationship with Savannah?
Last month, LeBron got candid about his relationship with Savannah after being married for 12 years. He told Complex's Speedy Morman on 360 with Speedy about how is relationship is "never picture perfect."
“It’s not, man,” LeBron told Speedy. “I’m gonna be honest. A relationship is never picture perfect. But if you’re OK with working through the hardships and the adverse moments, then it will make it all worth it, man. We’ve been together since high school, so s*** ain’t always going to be a bed of roses, man — in any relationship, let alone someone you’ve been living with for 20 years.”
The Lakers star also explained how an age-old phrase is very true in a marriage.
“The saying, ‘Happy wife, happy life,’ that s*** is real, bro,” he added.
LeBron and Bronny will be stepping on the court in the fall during the Lakers' first game of the 2025-26 season on Oct. 21 against the Golden State Warriors.
