"Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star Kim Kardashian has dropped a load of cash to buy back a sentimental item that her late father once gifted former NFL Hall of Famer O.J. Simpson

The reality television star, and ex-wife of rapper Kanye West, bought back the bible her dad, Robert Kardashian, gave to O.J. Following the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

You may recall Kim's dad, Robert, was part of the powerhouse team of attorneys who helped secure O.J.'s acquittal during the highly-publicized 1995 murder trial.

The Bible is sentimental, as it has her father's personal scripture and name etched in gold lettering on the front. It also includes a handwritten note from him.

Kim's purchase didn't come easy, though.

The Skims founder got into a bidding war over the item, before scoring it with an $80,000 winning offer.

During an episode of "The Kardashians" this week, the reality star revealed that she anonymously bid on the item in hopes of keeping it in the family.

She then gifted the item to her sister, Khloe Kardashian.

O.J. Simpson's estate denied Kim Kardashian's first attempt to buy the bible

Before the auction, Kim asked O.J.'s estate if she could purchase the piece of history, however, she was shut down, according to "TMZ."

Per the outlet, the Bible was already under court order to be sold to pay off O.J.'s debt.

While it was too late to quietly purchase the item, the estate gave Kim the option to buy it in the auction, which ultimately worked out - even though the reality star paid more than four times what she originally intended to.
