Kayla Nicole is reflecting on previous tweets that have gotten her in hot water recently.

The fitness influencer deactivated her X account (formerly known as Twitter) last week after posts of her using homophobic and racist slurs surfaced. Now, she is speaking out amid the backlash.

“I want to take a moment to sincerely apologize for the hurtful tweets I posted so many years ago," the post on her Instagram Story from Nov. 13 read, according to BET. "Seeing them resurface last week has been incredibly difficult, and reading them now, I’m ashamed that I ever thought or spoke that way. They were ignorant, hurtful, and completely wrong.” She added that the woman she is today “would never use those words or express those kinds of views.”

The model added that she “refuse[s] to keep that energy alive or contribute to a cycle of hate,” and wants to “continue showing through my actions who I’ve become and what I stand for today.”

At the time of this writing, the X account is still not back up.

Kayla Nicole goes viral for Halloween costume that allegedly threw shade at ex Travis Kelce

The deactivation of her X account follows Kayla Nicole breaking the internet with her Halloween costume that paid respect to the R&B icon, Toni Braxton. For this year's costume, Kayla Nicole re-enacted Braxton's iconic 2000 music video for "He Wasn't Man Enough."

As Kayla Nicole wore a silver bikini, a chain-like cover-up, purple eyeshadow, and choreographed dance moves to Braxton's hit.

“Did you know about us back then? / Do you know I dumped your husband, girlfriend?” Kayla Nicole lip-synched. “I’m not thinking ’bout him / But you married him / Do you know I made him leave? / Do you know he begged to stay with me? / He wasn’t man enough for me.”

In addition to Kayla Nicole seemingly shading her ex-boyfriend, Travis Kelce, whom she dated from 2017-2022, fans also believe it was shade towards his fiancée, Taylor Swift.

The 14-time Grammy winner has also been accused of mentioning Kelce's past relationship with Kayla Nicole on her track "The Fate of Ophelia."

Neither Swift nor Kayla Nicole has confirmed the allegations.
