The popular rising racquet sport known as “padel” is returning to Miami in 2026 with it’s premiere tournament, featuring some of the best players in the world, with NBA star Jimmy Butler serving as honorary chairman.
The Reserve Cup padel tournament is returning to Miami for its 2026 season kickoff. The three-day competition runs January 22-24 at Reserve Miami Seaplane Base and it’s one of the sport’s biggest competitions.
Butler, 35, has been involved with the tournament since it's first edition in Miami in 2024 and has been working to attract top athletes and celebrity supporters to the sport. Last’s year’s edition brought appearances from Derek Jeter, Zac Efron, Andrew Schulz, and San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa.

"If you think you've seen padel before, you haven't seen anything like the Reserve Cup," Butler said in a statement. "It's incredible to see padel growing the way it is, not just in the U.S., but everywhere, and the Reserve Cup is proof of how global this sport has become."
Two of the best teams in the sport, led by star players, will come to the tournament. They include Arturo Coello, Agustín Tapia, Alejandro Galán, Coki Nieto, and Miguel Yanguas, who are all highly ranked globally. The event is also expected to have the largest prize pool in padel history, although the specific dollar amounts haven’t been announced.
Padel is a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis and squash and is played on an enclosed court. It’s seen a rapid rise in popularity in the U.S. In the past few years, with movie star Tom Holland and other celebrities getting involved in various padel tournaments and events.

The game is particularly popular in Spain and Latin America, with many of the best players hailing from those countries. The sport actually originated in Mexico in the 1960s.
The Miami venue will include hospitality areas overlooking Biscayne Bay and a food pavilion featuring local restaurants. Following the debut tournament in Miami in 2024, Reserve Cup expanded internationally in 2025 with an event in Marbella, Spain.
