Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia and his wife, Kayla Vesia, are still mourning the loss of their first child.
Three months after her passing, Kayla shared a heartfelt tribute to her daughter, Sterling Sol, on social media.
"Sterlings mom and dad," she captioned the Tuesday, Jan. 20 post shared to Instagram.
The professional baseball player's wife included a photo embracing her husband in the moonlight with bright smiles on their faces.
Fans quickly flooded the comments section with supportive messages, with one writing, "I’m so happy to see you guys smiling. Your baby is your strength."
A second said, "Sterling is so blessed for you and Alex 💜."
Another added, "love you guys so much! May she always watch over her amazing parents and give you the strength to push forward!"
How the Vesia's shared their heartbreaking news
Prior to sharing the announcement about his daughter's passing, fans questioned why Alex was pulling out of the 2025 World Series. At first, the Dodgers stated that he was away due to a "personal family matter," however, fans were later given the devastating news.
The 29-year-old Dodgers pitcher and his wife announced their tragic loss on Friday, Nov. 7 in a joint statement shared to Instagram captioned, "Sterling Sol Vesia Our little angel. We love you forever & you’re with us always."
"Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday, Oct. 26. There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her," the post continued.
The couple has remained largely quiet in the weeks following. However, Kayla has recently returned to social media to share updates on how she's moving forward.
On Friday, Jan. 2, the MLB WAG shared a raw video of herself captioned, "checking in."
“You know, I don’t have much to say, honestly,” Kayla said. “Alex and I are just trying to get through it everyday. Every day’s so different for us right now and I don’t really have the words.”
She continued, “It just felt right to come on here and say ‘Thank you. I am really grateful for the community of you guys, and just expressing your support and love towards us. It really has brought us a lot of comfort during this.”
