Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez are already making big plans for their upcoming wedding.

Three months after getting engaged, the couple have decided to wed in Ronaldo's home island of Madeira, Portugal.

According to "Jornal da Madeira," the wedding take place in 2026 after the World Cup at Funchal Cathedral. They will reportedly host a reception at a nearby luxury hotel thereafter.

The venue holds a special meaning for Ronaldo, as it sits only a few miles away from the hospital he was born at and is close to the area where he first played international football

Why Cristano Ronaldo will likely have a small and intimate wedding

Ronaldo, 40, announced in August that he proposed to his longtime girlfriend - and the mother of his children - after more than nine years together.

Earlier this month, Ronaldo revealed on Piers Morgan's "Uncensored," that Rodriguez doesn't like big parties and prefers to enjoy private affairs, suggesting that his wedding could be small and intimate and not some over-the-top large affair.

The Portuguese superstar also revealed that he finally decided to pop the question to the Argentine-Spanish model after nine years of dating, as the timing finally felt right.

While the proposal wasn't pre-planned or anything over the top, Ronaldo went all out when selecting giant oval-shaped engagement ring, which is reportedly between 30 and 35 carats.

"It was the time," he told Morgan. "One of my friends gave me the ring to offer (Georgina) and as I was giving her the ring, my two kids come in and say 'Daddy, you're going to give the ring to mom and you're going to ask her to get married,'" he continued. "I said, 'Wow, this is the right moment to say yes."

Ronaldo met Rodriguez in Madrid in 2016 when she was working as a sales assistant at Gucci.

The couple share two children, Alana Martin and Bella Esmeralda, together.

Ronaldo's eldest son, Cristiano Jr, was born in 2010, before he met Rodriguez. The footballer also has two other children, Eva and Mateo, born via surrogacy in 2017.
