Sophie Cunningham is closing her very successful 2025 with a bang.
The newest update from the Indiana Fever star? A fun partnership with Sun Cruiser to kick off a well-deserved off-season. Known for her intensity on the court, Cunningham is all about fun, freedom and letting the good times cruise, making this partnership a perfect match. "This is a very new brand," she tells SN. "I think that was pretty appealing because we get to build something from the ground up together, so it just makes sense to me. It's chill, it's relaxing, you can drink it wherever, but for me, preferably, I would love to drink it by the pool or outside, and so it's just very fitting."
Noting that it's easy to drink and that her friends also enjoy it, she adds, "You know, it's a crazy job that we professional athletes do, so in my downtime, I just want to relax. I just want to be by the pool. I want to be on a lake, doing something. But also, in those times, I want to be drinking and having a good time." Speaking of the off-season, relaxing and rehabbing are top of mind for the athlete. "I got injured this season, so PT rehab is kind of my main thing I'm doing. I'm also spending time with family, hanging out with friends and going all over the country.... I'm very blessed and lucky to be doing what I'm doing.

Of course, we couldn't miss an opportunity to ask Cunningham about her style, something she often makes headlines for. "I'm sassy, but when I'm off the court, I just want to bring the more girly side, girly aspect to the sport, and so for me, that's what I'm all about. I love wearing something a little spicy, you know, sometimes it's cozy, but I think it's just a fun way to express yourself through clothing. And the tunnel fits have definitely been a big thing that's been turning a lot of people's heads...sometimes I have a stylist, and sometimes I don't."
As far as her favorite brands and designers go, Cunningham says that you can see her in anything from Louis Vuitton to Marshalls on any given day. "It's anywhere in between. I also love Amazon and Revolve, and used Shopbop quite a bit because, you know, we have a lot of games, and have sometimes when you're constantly buying, you just run out of closet space."
And as for the 2025 WNBA season, the star says that it was "one for the books," noting, "You know, I was drafted out to Phoenix. I've been out there the past six years, and then I got traded over to Indiana, which has been such a blessing. The people there, all the way from the owners to our locker attendants, they're just awesome, amazing people who want the best for you, and so I couldn't ask for a better group of people to be around for me."
She continues, "I absolutely love my teammates. I think when we're all healthy, you know, we could win championships, and that's the name of the game— staying healthy. But I think this season was so fun. You know, and I finally, after I sprained my ankle...tore it up pretty well. I started the ball really well. We caught some rhythm, even though CeCe was out, and so there's a lot of ups and downs, a lot of adversity this year, but I think it showed our toughness and the love that we actually had in the locker room for each other. After I got injured with the season-ending injury, you know, I got to pour into my teammates and be their biggest cheerleader. Becoming a better, more elite athlete every single day, and when the time comes where the ball stops bouncing, you know, I'll have some stuff to do and hopefully revolving around sports."
And while basketball is always Cunningham's first love, she has found enjoyment in the media landscape, an area where she hopes to continue growing. "Yeah, you know, the past couple of seasons, I've been working for the NBA doing some broadcasting there, and I absolutely love that space. I think it's so awesome to see those guys perform at a high level and then break down what they're doing, why they're doing it. So I had a blast there, and now with the 'Show Me Something' podcast—I absolutely love that space as well. It gives you a little bit more freedom to do it virtually and allows me to travel and do what I want, and so we'll see what happens."
That's right, Sophie Cunningham is doing things her own way, and doing it well.
