Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany shares recovery update after breaking her back image

Patrick Mahomes' isn't the only person in his family recovering from a painful setback. His wife, Brittany Mahomes, has also been rehabbing an injury.

After breaking her back last year, the 30-year-old wife of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback shared a candid update on her recovery on social media this week, telling fans she gets a little bit better each day.

"Almost a year and a half, rehabbing a broken back meant severe pain and limited movement," Brittany's trainer Kristy Rae wrote alongside a video shared to her Instagram Stories on Monday, Dec. 5.

"Now almost a year postpartum and progressively getting stronger every week," she added. "Proof that the body is capable of incredible things when you meet it with patience and intentional training."

Brittany re-shared the post, which showed the Chiefs WAG squatting and lifting a barbell in a gym, to her 2 million followers on Instagram this week.

Brittany Mahomes revealed the postpartum injury after welcoming third child

In March 2024, Brittany revealed she had suffered an injury after she gave birth to her and Patrick's third child, Golden. The couple are also parents to two other kids, Sterling, 4, and Bronze, 3.

"Just a daily reminder. Once you have kids please take care of your pelvic floor. Seriously,” Brittany captioned the post at the time, adding, “From: A girl with a fractured back.”

Two months later, she told "E News" she was living her "best life" and no longer had a broken back.

While the NFL WAG has been dealing with her own problems, Patrick is racing against the clock to recover from a torn ACL, which he had repaired in December.

Head coach Andy Reid has publicly stated that his star quarterback was already grinding in rehab three weeks out from the injury. "Right now, he's in that early process where you got to really hit it hard; it's not necessarily a fun thing to do every day, but the important thing is that you show up, keep coming back for more, and he's been doing that," Reid said during a press conference on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
