Travis Kelce is feeling pretty "lucky" to be some musical inspiration for his fiancée, Taylor Swift.
Swift just released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, and several songs on the project give a first look into who someone holds dearly -- her fiancé. In a conversation with Elle, Kelce shared how he feels so lucky to be able to support her while she creates her art.
"I’m just the lucky man that gets to be, you know, the support system for Taylor while she drops one of the coolest albums that I’ve ever listened to, that the world’s seen. I’m excited for her. I’m happy for her. Everything seems to have gone perfectly, all this planning.”
Swift revealed The Life of a Showgirl while being a guest on Kelce's New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce. During the podcast episode, she shared that she created the album while on the road for her record-breaking Eras Tour. Kelce told the outlet that he was with her every step of the way and was in awe of her process.
Travis Kelce witnessed Taylor Swift's album process
“You see it from start to finish," he explained. "She started this thing in the middle of her tour in Europe. To see it all unfold and come together and her connect the dots—from the strategic planning to how the album was all going to look—then to listen to the music, and everything comes together and her finally getting that 12th song and being like ‘I think it’s done.’"
Swift told fans that there will not be a double album or additional songs added to the project like her other projects. She has 12 songs on the project with one feature, Sabrina Carpenter, on the title track. For this album, she worked with producers Max Martin and Shellback.
“From that point on, it’s like her and her label are just working their a** off to make this one of the biggest releases of all time. I’m just happy as hell for it because she’s happy with it. She’s proud of this and obviously I’m proud of her for going through the hoops to live out her dreams.”
While Kelce is helping Swift live out her dreams, she is doing the same. So far this year, she has attended two games to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs' tight end as he enters his 13th year in the NFL.
The Life of a Showgirl is out now. The next game for the Chiefs is tomorrow (Oct. 12) at 8 p.m. ET against the Detroit Lions at home.
