Taylor Swift is sharing more about her proposal.
Swift and Travis Kelce got engaged in August after two years of dating. The couple shared the news in a post on Instagram on August 26.
"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," the caption read of their garden-themed proposal.
During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, on Oct. 6, she shared how the NFL star proposed after they were done filming the New Heights podcast which Travis hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce. However, Swift said that it easily could have been a distraction to what was going to lie ahead.
“I think, for Travis, the podcast was just sort a distraction, sort of ruse, to keep me not looking out the windows of the house," she told Fallon.
Not only were the curtains odd -- as they were used to keep Swift away from the construction of a garden outside -- she noticed that Kelce's behavior was abnormal.
“I kinda realized that he’s walking around sorta nervous about the podcast, [saying], ‘My heart is racing. … I know how much this means to you. I just really want this to be what you’d hoped it would be.’ Because we’d been talking about doing the podcast and announcing the album," Swift says of her latest release of The Life of a Showgirl. "And he’s like, ‘My heart’s just racing.’ I’ve never seen this dude nervous. Ever. He’s professionally not a nervous person.”
After Kelce appeared nervous, Swift shares that the NFL star asked her to go in the backyard.
“Do you wanna go and just walk around the backyard and have a glass of wine?” Swift recalls Kelce asking which she responded, “I’m always gonna wanna do that.”
Swift continued to gush about Kelce as she showed off her estimated $1 million engagement ring.
“He’s just my favorite person I’ve ever met — no offense to everyone else. But the fact that this is the person that I get to hang out with every day forever … that’s the whole thing of it. You look at [the ring] and you’re like, ‘I get to hang out with him forever,’ and this represents that,” she said of the ring.

Swift's story of how everything went down mirrors what Kelce told Erin Andrews in an interview for Fox Sports.
"How rattled did you get when you proposed?" Andrews asked of the three-time Super Bowl champion. "The palms were definitely sweating," Kelce said. "I'm an emotional guy, so there were a few tears here and there. It's been an exciting ride up to this date, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her.
He added that, "She has brought excitement and a joy for life that made me … just that much more comfortable in who I am."
